CINCINNATI, OH, August 15, 2012 – Cincinnati-based Che International Group, LLC (CIG) recently announced it has acquired its third subsidiary company, Cincinnati-based Cog, LLC. Cog is a provider of graphics production solutions for consumer packaging and in-store promotion & displays.
Cog specializes in identifying, managing, and implementing process-driven graphics production capabilities that impact the effectiveness and return on investment of their customers’ consumer packaging and in-store promotion & display efforts by driving Innovation, Process Simplification, Speed-to-Market, Collaboration, and Cost Reduction. The company’s core areas of expertise and services include Workflow Process Development & Management, Graphic Design Implementation & Production Artwork, Image Capture & Manipulation, and 2D & 3D Prototyping. Typical customers include Brand and Corporate Marketers, Sales organizations, Creative & Design agencies, and Retailers.
“I was first attracted to Cog because their leadership displayed a level of expertise and passion unmatched in our industry”, said Christopher Che, President & CEO of CIG. “When Cog gained advocacy and commitment from an organization within Procter & Gamble responsible for upstream packaging development, I knew then that their model would continue to gain traction with leading marketers and that they could be an invaluable addition to CIG and our mission to help our customers win with consumers in-store through accelerated speed-to-market, sustainable cost reduction, and innovation throughout the supply chain.”
The Che International Group (CIG) acquires, support and grows companies in diverse industries that serve a common customer base. Customers range from small businesses to multinational corporations, as well as government and educational institutions, and represent a variety of industries including automotive, health and beauty, cosmetics, medical, household products, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, gaming, industrial, and manufacturing.
CIG employs more than 150 people between its three subsidiary companies: Cog, Digital Color International (DCI), and Hooven-Dayton Corp. (HDC). Since acquiring HDC, a label, coupon and flexible packaging printer with plants in Dayton, Ohio and Richmond, Indiana, in 2007, CIG has invested significantly in technology and employed an aggressive growth strategy that has resulted in HDC tripling its revenue over the last four years. DCI, a temporary retail displays, digital media displays, and specialty packaging solutions printer, has exponentially increased revenue since its acquisition in 2011. A similar strategy is being developed for Cog. The relationship between the three companies will provide fully integrated total print solutions under the Che International Group umbrella and provide a powerful opportunity to advance all three companies’ strategic priorities.
The two original owners of Cog will remain an integral part of the day-to-day operations and continue in revised leadership roles: David Lukshus, COO / Executive Vice President of Business Development & Customer Relations, and Mark Lackey, Executive Vice President of Process Excellence. “I couldn’t be more pleased and honored to be joining the CIG culture and roster of companies. We are excited that Cog’s ability to deliver innovative, nimble, and collaborative graphics production solutions will continue at an even faster pace and that our partnership with Hooven-Dayton Corporation and Digital Color International will provide us greater scale”, said David Lukshus. “CIG’s vision, growth, and leadership are exactly what we were looking for. Cog is now in a stronger position to provide unique, competitive, and scalable solutions throughout the execution phases of our customers’ packaging and in-store initiatives”, said Mark Lackey.
